Gray Whale is a deliciously refreshing gin, perfected with six Californian botanicals sustainably sourced or wild harvested along the migratory path of the gray whale.

With a beautiful bottle design and a strong brand story, Gray Whale Gin needed a website refresh to match. We we’re challenged to create a visual experience that accurately reflects the brand’s mission. Rooted in purpose and inspired by the California coastline, this refresh brings new energy to a gin that’s always stood for more than what’s in the bottle.


100 Word Summary

Walk West was challenged to reimagine how Gray Whale Gin’s brand could be implemented into a refreshed website. We let the bottle and the brand do the talking. We wed their blue hues to create a welcoming environment, the shape of the logo (the whale fluke) as a visual cue to move the viewer down the pages, and rounded corners throughout to mimic the shape of the bottle. Subtle animations are used across the site to showcase awards, flavor notes, and key ingredients. Everything ties back to the migratory path of the gray whale — the focal point of the brand story.
